Where are you living?
Currently, I’m living in Lisbon, Portugal, where my parents’s family are from. I was actually born in Amsterdam, Netherlands and lived there for the first 14 years of my life before moving here.
What is your study background?
I have a bachelor’s degree in Economics, but never worked in the field. Fairly quickly, I changed paths to communication, and after a couple of internships in the field, I initiated my post-graduate degree in Strategic Management and Public Relations.
Where were you working before you came here?
This last year, I worked as a freelancer, offering my services to non-profits from various fields. Before that, I worked for 4 years in an academic Think tank associated with my former university, which was focused on topics such as social policy, democracy and accountability, and public finance. Here, I was responsible for all communication efforts and had the unique chance to combine both degrees!
What makes you excited about working at the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation?
First and foremost, I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with an international team. I’m also very dedicated to working with nonprofits; from my experience, they tend to have very passionate teams, so FfB was a perfect fit.
Also, my happiest memories occur surrounded by nature; today, my baseline is returning to the mountains, so preserving and protecting nature will always be a part of me.
