Thursday 13 November | 14:00 CEST

The Finance for Biodiversity (FfB) Foundation is delighted to invite you to a new webinar in the series We need to talk about biodiversity, co-organised with the EU Business & Biodiversity Platform, UN PRI & UNEP FI.

The webinar Nature ambition in sovereign policies and financing strategies will launch the new FfB Foundation Sovereign Debt Nature Assessment Model.

Register now.

The importance of nature for climate adaptation and mitigation, but also for systemic economic stability and human well-being, has been demonstrated. With UNFCCC COP30 and UN CBD COP17 approaching, the international finance community is mobilised to call for policy coherence across sustainability objectives and to ensure that competing policy priorities will not slow down the implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).

This webinar will present new initiatives and guidance available for financial institutions interested in the relationships between policy governance, the state of nature, and nature-related risk management. The webinar will also explore the increasing calls from financial institutions to governments to steer sectoral transformation pathways towards the nature-positive goal, as an effective approach to guide the alignment of financial flows with the goals and targets of the GBF.

As it is now necessary to renew the global ambition of all relevant stakeholders to close the biodiversity finance gap, the webinar will present updated approaches and ideas for the finance sector to further support transformative changes.

Launch of the FfB Sovereign Debt Nature Assessment Model

During the webinar the FfB Foundation will launch its new Sovereign Debt Nature Assessment Model and open a call for public consultation. Developed by the FfB Foundation’s Sovereign Debt Working Group – led by French asset management company, Amundi, and comprised of 15 of the Foundation’s member institutions – the Model brings nature-related risks and opportunities into the core of sovereign debt analysis and policy engagement.
