Investor Nature Engagement Brief series

Resources

9 July 2026

The Investor Nature Engagement Brief series provides practical, sector-specific guidance to help investors engage with companies on nature-related issues.

Developed collaboratively by the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation and its members, the series adapts existing sectoral guidance from the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and the partnership between Business for Nature (BfN), the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) to the specific needs of financial institutions.

Each brief provides an overview of a priority sector’s key nature-related impacts, dependencies and investor expectations, helping investors better understand the issues most relevant to company engagement. The briefs also include practical engagement questions to support constructive dialogue with companies and strengthen nature-related stewardship practices.

A practical resource for investors

The Investor Nature Engagement Briefs were developed to support investors participating in the Nature Action 100 initiative and are aligned with the Nature Action 100 Investor Expectations. However, the series is intended as a practical resource for any investor seeking to strengthen nature-related engagement, regardless of participation in the initiative.

The series forms part of the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation’s contribution to Nature Action 100 through the Technical Advisory Group and the Nature Action 100 Science Council.

Following an initial release through an exclusive webinar series for FfB members, FfB Hub participants and Nature Action 100 members, the five Investor Nature Engagement Briefs are now publicly available to support the wider investment community.

Previously available exclusively to FfB Members and Nature Action 100 investors, the Investor Nature Engagement Brief series is now publicly available.
