Communications Intern

Finance for Biodiversity (FfB) Foundation is currently seeking a highly motivated intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills, expand your knowledge of finance and biodiversity, and bring your nascent communications and marketing skills to support our mission. 

Location: Remote (Netherlands based)  

Duration: 6 months (or longer)  

Start date: ASAP 

Finance for Biodiversity (FfB) Foundation is seeking a motivated intern to help us keep track of external events and speaking engagements and set up internal webinars. The intern will also support us with day-to-day communications tasks such as monitoring social media, helping to prepare social media posts, some simple design work as well as other admin tasks which will provide critical support to our small but busy team. Further scope for development within the role could be possible further down the line, depending on the successful candidate. 

Key activities include: 

  • Tracking and coordinating speaking requests for the team, including timely responses to event organisers (acceptances, bios and photos), updating the website and other channels for promotion, and ensuring all logistics are in place (calendar management, event preparation support). 
  • Monitoring external events and liaising with the internal team to assess opportunities for FfB Foundation speakers. 
  • Supporting the organisation on our internal events – setting up and managing webinars. 
  • Supporting the communications team with social media activities, including social media monitoring and helping to prepare posts. 
  • Providing basic design support, including simple visuals in Canva and assistance with PowerPoint support. 
  • Supporting additional administrative tasks related to events and communications, as required.  

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in communications, marketing or a related discipline. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English 
  • Well organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.  
  • Interest in biodiversity, sustainability, and finance-related topics; prior familiarity is highly desirable. 
  • Basic project and task management skills with the ability to work in a structured way within a busy team. 
  • Some knowledge of communications and marketing tools, such as Canva. 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. 
  • Proactive, self-starting attitude with a willingness to take initiative and learn.  
  • Based in the Netherlands only with the ability to work remotely and online with the FfB Foundation team.
