26 September – Nature Action 100 announces companies, start of investor engagement process to catalyze greater action on nature loss
Nature Action 100, the first global investor engagement initiative to address the urgent crisis of nature and biodiversity loss around the world, unveiled a list of 100 companies in key sectors in which 190 institutional investor participants – representing $23.6 trillion in assets under management or advice – will engage.
The company selection was advised by the FfB Foundation and its multitool study analysing the MSCI World list with the four main footprinting tools.
In total 140 financial institutions representing 23 countries and over 19.7 trillion euro in assets signed the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge in 2023. The Pledge was initiated by a group of 26 financial institutions calling on global leaders and committing to protect and restore biodiversity through their finance activities and investments and launched during the Nature for Life Hub at 25 September 2020 and the Biodiversity Summit of the United Nations General Assembly at 30 September 2020.
