New Banking-Focused Workshops Added to the FfB Hub Workshop Programme

We are pleased to announce two additional workshops within the FfB Hub Workshop Programme (for members and Hub participants only), developed specifically for participants from the banking sector and delivered in collaboration with UNEP FI.

As financial institutions increasingly engage with nature-related risks, impacts, dependencies, and opportunities, banks face a unique set of challenges in integrating nature considerations into client relationships, decision-making processes, and strategic objectives. While the existing FfB Hub workshops are designed for a broad range of financial institutions, these additional sessions provide practical guidance tailored to the specific needs and opportunities of the banking sector.

Stewardship and Engagement (Banking Sector)

30 June 2026 | 13:00–14:00 CEST | Online

This workshop will explore practical approaches to stewardship and client engagement on nature. Participants will learn how banks can support corporate action on biodiversity and nature-related issues and how banks can integrate them into strengthened client engagement practices.

The session will also introduce UNEP FI’s Client Engagement on Nature prototype tool, which is designed to support relationship managers in asking meaningful and targeted questions when engaging clients on nature-related topics.

Topics will include:

  • Stewardship and engagement strategies for addressing nature-related issues
  • Practical techniques for engaging clients on biodiversity and nature
  • Approaches to strengthening corporate action and accountability
  • Integrating nature-related considerations into client relationships
  • Insights into UNEP FI’s Client Engagement on Nature prototype tool

Target Setting for Nature (Banking Sector)

19 October 2026 | 13:00–14:00 CET | Online

This session will focus on practical approaches to nature target setting within the banking sector. As methodologies for nature-related target setting continue to evolve, the workshop will provide participants with insights into emerging approaches and practical steps for translating nature ambitions into measurable action.

Participants will explore how banks can identify priority nature-related impacts, pressures, and dependencies within their portfolios, develop science-informed targets aligned with the ambitions of the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), and begin implementing and monitoring those targets in practice.

Topics will include:

  • Setting and implementing nature targets in a banking context
  • Emerging approaches to nature target setting
  • Identifyingpriority impacts, pressures, and dependencies
  • Distinguishing betweendifferent typesof nature-related targets
  • Insights from UNEP FI’s Nature Impact Target Setting for Banks

Both workshops are designed exclusively for banking professionals and aim to provide practical guidance, sector-specific examples, and opportunities for peer learning among participants working on nature-related topics.

Further details, including speakers and agendas, will be shared closer to each event.

Please note: The FfB Hub Workshop Programme is available exclusively to FfB members and Hub participants.
