23 October | 14:15 – 15:15
HOST: Finance for Biodiversity Foundation
VENUE: Dutch Pavilion, Blue Zone – Yerevan, Armenia
FORMAT: Workshop
DESCRIPTION
The workshop on “Finance for Nature Positive” aims to mobilise a diverse audience of stakeholders across the market, including financial institutions, policymakers, standard setters and data providers, to discuss how financial institutions can identify, assess and prioritise nature-related opportunities that can contribute to the global goal of halting and reversing biodiversity loss.
Participants will be part of an interactive discussion around FfB’s Finance for Nature Positive working model and will share their views to guide the start of the GEF-funded programme aiming to build a global framework on Finance for Nature Positive. This work will provide a structured, indicator-driven model for financial institutions to assess progress on nature across different themes and market segments.
OBJECTIVES & DESIRED OUTCOME(S)
- Increase awareness and build market alignment around the need for practical frameworks to assess nature-related opportunities across asset classes, supporting the implementation of the K-M GBF.
- Collect practical feedback from market participants to strengthen the ongoing development of the Finance for Nature Positive Framework, helping ensure that it is practical, data-driven, science-informed, and broadly applicable across financial institutions.
- Support wider market uptake after COP17 by incorporating the workshop outcomes into the continued development of the framework and future public consultation activities, contributing to a shared language for opportunities assessment and investor engagement.
More details on the programme will follow.
