25 October | 17:15 – 18:15
HOST: Finance for Biodiversity Foundation
VENUE: Country Room, Blue Zone – Yerevan, Armenia
FORMAT: Workshop
DESCRIPTION
The workshop on “Nature Transition Finance” aims to mobilise a diverse audience of stakeholders across the market, including financial institutions, policymakers, standard setters and data providers, to discuss how financial institutions can assess companies’ transition towards aligning with the global goal of halting and reversing biodiversity loss practically and consistently
Participants will be part of an interactive discussion around FfB’s Nature Transition Companies framework being developed and the new FfB Foundation Nature Transition Companies working group. This work will provide a structured, indicator-driven model for financial institutions to assess corporate progress on nature across different themes and components.
OBJECTIVES & DESIRED OUTCOMES
- Increase awareness and build market alignment around the need for practical, indicator-based assessment frameworks to assess companies’ nature transition maturity, supporting the implementation of the K-M GBF.
- Collect practical feedback from market participants to strengthen the ongoing development of the Nature Transition Companies framework, helping ensure that it is practical, data-driven, science-informed and broadly applicable across financial institutions.
- Support wider market uptake after COP17 by incorporating the workshop outcomes into the continued development of the framework and future public consultation activities, contributing to a shared language for company assessment and investor engagement.
