28 October | 18:15 – 19:30
HOST: WWF
VENUE: Lastiver – Youth Group meeting room, Blue Zone – Yerevan, Armenia
FORMAT: High-level discussion
DESCRIPTION
This COP17 official side-event explores how finance can become an active delivery partner for NBSAP and NBFP implementation. It opens by setting out the economic and policy case for planning and acting for nature, before introducing three mutually reinforcing practical unlockers: nature-positive pathways to provide clearer shared direction for sectors and markets; organisational transition plans to help companies and financial institutions respond and contribute to the transition; and landscape approaches to mobilise place-based action and investment. A moderated panel will bring together perspectives from government, development finance, financial institutions and civil society to explore how these unlockers can reinforce one another in practice, before closing with key takeaways for action around COP17.
