The Public Policy Advocacy working group follows the developments within global and regional biodiversity public policies and regulations and advocates for effective legislation to support the ambitious implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework. We facilitate collaborative engagements with governments for members.
Objective:
Advocate for ambitious policies and regulations that drive financial and business sector action on biodiversity.
Our work:
In 2025 and 2026, we will focus on collaborative engagements with Canada, EU and the UK and the preparation of UN CBD COP17.

COP preparations
Prepare the mobilisation of the FfB Foundation and its delegation of members to the CBD COPs, including the development of advocacy positions, focusing on the alignment of financial flows with global biodiversity goals.
Government policy engagements
Advocate for the implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework from the perspective of the private financial sector to support closing the biodiversity finance gap. Based on engagement expectations and outcomes defined with member financial institutions. At selected country/regional levels, currently:

- Canada policy group
- UK policy group
Join a working group
All working groups are jointly coordinated by co-chairs representing member institutions and the FfB Secretariat. This co-chair model forms the cornerstone of the Foundation’s bottom-up approach, ensuring strong member ownership and collaborative leadership.
