About us
We bring together investors, banks, insurers, pension funds, impact funds and other financial institutions to drive meaningful change. Our signatory and member financial institutions commit to integrating biodiversity into their financing activities and investments.
Who we are
The Finance for Biodiversity (FfB) Foundation – an independent non-profit organisation established in 2021 – unites around 200 global financial institutions as signatories of the FfB Pledge. Collectively, they manage over €23 trillion in assets across 29 countries. Around 90 members of the FfB Foundation are actively engaged in peer learning and collaboration in FfB working groups, building ongoing guidance and frameworks for the financial sector on integrating nature into strategies, investments and ESG policies. This includes guidance on how to effectively assess the biodiversity impacts and dependencies of their portfolios, set targets, and engage with companies and policymakers on nature.
FfB plays a critical and unique role in supporting financial institutions to act on nature loss and drive positive impact as well as advocating for world leaders to take decisive action to halt ad reverse biodiversity loss this decade. Together, we are shaping a financial system that values and protects nature.
