The Tropical Forest Forever Facility – why this event matters
We urgently need innovative structures to efficiently mobilise public and private funding towards the conservation of natural ecosystems at scale. The world continues to lose around 4 million hectares of forests each year, damaging critical natural habitats and affecting our capacity to fight against climate change. Conserving tropical forests is a key priority.
The Tropical Forest Forever Facility (TFFF) is a global permanent facility led by Brazil and launched at COP30 to scale the financing of tropical forest conservation. It provides a unique opportunity to support biodiversity and climate goals by using fixed-income investment earnings to pay eligible countries a fixed amount per hectare of conserved tropical rainforest, while maintaining its principal investment intact.
This event will offer participants a rare glimpse into the TFFF blended finance structure, and will share insights into its next steps. With a series of technical presentations and investor roundtables, it will enable participants to ask questions, share their vision, and co-develop mobilisation opportunities. This Forum for leading investors will be a key space to ensure the success of the TFFF and will increase investors’ readiness to seize a unique opportunity in the domain of forest finance.
