HOST: Finance for Biodiversity Foundation
VENUE: Netherlands Pavilion, Blue Zone – Yerevan, Armenia
FORMAT: Interactive workshop
DESCRIPTION
This workshop on “Nature in Sovereign Debt” will mobilise a diverse audience of stakeholders across the market – policymakers, financial institutions, and researchers – to align their vision on better integrating nature considerations in the sovereign debt market. An interactive discussion on the FfB Sovereign Debt Assessment Model will be facilitated, building capacity to use the model for decision-making and to best leverage it for public-private dialogue on debt sustainability and GBF implementation.
OBJECTIVES & DESIRED OUTCOMES
- Collective awareness and mobilisation regarding debt sustainability for GBF implementation: the event will be an opportunity to create visibility of the FfB Sovereign Debt Assessment Model and promote it as an effective tool to integrate nature into sovereign debt markets, while creating an opportunity for public-private dialogue and a learning experience for the session participants.
- Practical progress on the FfB Sovereign Debt assessment model: the interactive discussion will leverage collective intelligence to improve the existing model and further its market uptake by building alignment on the hierarchy of indicators, the interpretation of results per country, and the development of engagement priorities with governments as sovereign debt issuers.
More details on the programme will follow.
