FfB Foundation publicly releases all five Investor Nature Engagement Briefs

The Finance for Biodiversity (FfB) Foundation is pleased to announce the public release of its series of five Investor Nature Engagement Briefs, providing investors with practical, sector-specific guidance to support engagement with companies on nature-related issues.

Developed collaboratively by the FfB Foundation and its members, the Investor Nature Engagement Briefs are aligned with sectoral guidance developed by the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and the partnership between Business for Nature (BfN), the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), adapting it to the specific needs of financial institutions. The briefs provide practical guidance to help investors better understand sector-specific nature-related impacts, dependencies, risks and opportunities, and support more informed engagement with companies. Each brief includes practical engagement questions that investors can use to prepare for company dialogue and strengthen their nature-related engagement practices.

The series covers five sectors prioritised by the Nature Action 100 investor initiative:

The Investor Nature Engagement Briefs have been developed to support investors’ nature-related company engagements under the Nature Action 100 initiative, aligning with the Nature Action 100 Investor Expectations. While designed to support investors participating in the initiative, the briefs are intended as a practical resource for any investor seeking to strengthen nature-related engagement practices.

The series has been produced as part of the Finance for Biodiversity Foundations’ contribution to the Nature Action 100 initiative through the Technical Advisory Group and the Nature Action 100 Science Council.

Earlier this year, the briefs were introduced through an exclusive webinar series for FfB members, FfB Hub participants and Nature Action 100 members. Following this initial release, we are pleased to now make these resources publicly available to support the wider investment community.

Previously available exclusively to FfB Members and Nature Action 100 investors, the Investor Nature Engagement Brief series is now publicly available.
