HOST: Finance for Biodiversity Foundation
VENUE: Biodiversity and Finance (B&F) Hub, Blue Zone – Yerevan, Armenia
PARTNERS: PRI, UNEP FI, EU B&B Platform
FORMAT: Official side-event
DESCRIPTION
As countries work to close the biodiversity finance gap and deliver on Target 19 of the Global Biodiversity Framework, financial institutions have a critical role to play in channelling resources toward nature-positive outcomes. This side-event, co-hosted by the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation, UNEP FI, PRI and the EU Business & Biodiversity Platform – all of which coordinate the annual ‘New Green Shoots’ Series – brings together a group of diverse financial institutions to present real-world examples of investment vehicles, funds and financial products that work towards generating positive outcomes for nature.
Through short case studies, speakers will share practical insights on structuring and measuring biodiversity-aligned finance and discuss the policy and market conditions needed to scale these approaches. The session offers policymakers, investors, companies and civil society a concrete look at how nature finance is moving from ambition to implementation.
